St. Robert man charged over Vickie Lynn Lane shooting

A St. Robert man faces four felony offenses in connection with allegedly discharging a firearm during an altercation, according to documents filed in circuit court.
David G. Fullington Jr, born 2005, was charged in a May 19 warrant with first-degree assault, armed criminal action, and two counts of unlawful use of weapon. Fullington’s bond was set at $500,000.
Officers with the St. Robert Police Department responded Sunday, May 18, to Vickie Lynn Lane in reference to multiple shots being fired, according to the case’s probable cause statement. Upon arrival, the statement says large caliber shell casings were found in the roadway and a witness reported seeing a subject wearing a white t-shirt flee into a wooded area the gunfire.
The statement says a reporting party next contacted law enforcement alleging Fullington fired at their rented 2025 Chevrolet Trax. Investigation found the vehicle was struck three times by bullets, but neither the reporting party nor a passenger was struck.
The statement says Fullington exited the woods upon being notified over a PA system that a K-9 officer was going to be released into the woods if he didn’t surrender. The statement alleges Fullington smelled of alcohol, was slurring his speech, and his eyes were bloodshot. It also quotes Fullington as admitting he’d consumed multiple shots of liquor, fired an assault-style rifle into the air and at a fleeing vehicle with the reporting party inside. The statement details the shell casing matched for an assault-style rifle, but the firearm wasn’t immediately located due to Fullington saying he could not recall where he placed it.
The statement concludes by citing Fullington’s blood alcohol content was .128 as determined by a preliminary breath test.
The charges for which the above-mentioned suspect was arrested are merely accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
